Leah: danced in portland last night! the word for the dancers is: gentle.
Nathanael: Leah, I agree. Portland dancers are a welcome reminder that exertion is not necessary in dance. To put it in abstract terms, if subtlety and minimalism are like two Portland blues dancers, then the space between their leading and following is as small as their close embrace allows.

Unnervous in the light of dawn
It is good to be awake in this cool blue dawn, where things are still dreams, and the world is quiet. It is good to be part of this magic where nothing is in a hurry and only the light yellowing over the tops of chairs tells the time. Where my face sticks out from under the covers as if we were camping and my nose and cheeks are cold.
This light makes me smile at the day instead of rush into it....
